KRISTA DALCOURT, CPA
Principal
Even from a young age, Krista knew that she wanted to work with numbers. Taught by her father, she prepared her first tax return at 14 years old, and became involved in the bookkeeping for her mother’s business, Heather’s Poodle Care Ltd. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Krista started her first business venture at 14, making dog collar scrunchies, which she sold to a loyal client base at the local Crafter’s Market. By the time she was 21, Krista had graduated from Seneca College, having earned an Accounting and Finance diploma, and a spot on the Dean’s List. She took a position as a staff accountant at Ernst & Young, where she continued to develop her skills. Further opportunities for professional growth were spent as a cost accountant for McGraw Hill Ryerson, and Umbra Ltd.
In 2008, with two young children, Krista decided it was time for a change, and started her own bookkeeping and accounting business. In addition to her work and family, she tirelessly pursued higher education, and earned a Bachelor of Administration Honours Degree from Laurentian University. In 2019, Krista saw her lifelong dream of becoming a CPA become a reality. Krista continues to take professional development courses and keeps busy as a part-time teacher at Georgian College in Barrie.
On a personal note, Krista and Pierre are blissfully married, and share 4 beautiful, active children. In her limited spare time, she can be found chauffeuring her family to their various hockey, dance, sports and educational activities, or walking her two dogs, Mila & Samson.
STEPHANIE HUNT
Senior Accountant Technician
Stephanie came to Dalcourt Accounting and Barrie Taxwise in 2013. She graduated from Georgian College in 2014 with a Diploma in Business Administration – Accounting. Not one to rest, Stephanie quickly pursued her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and graduated with Honours from Laurentian University in 2016. Stephanie is currently pursuing a CPA Designation, and in her spare time, she enjoys reading crime and mystery novels, and gardening. An avid animal lover, Stephanie has cats, and an Australian Sheppard named Maggie, who occasionally accompanies her to the office.
RENEE BROWN
Accountant Technician
Renee joined the Dalcourt Accounting and Taxwise teams in early 2015 as reception. Continuing to work towards her Business Administration - Accounting diploma, Renee also keeps busy as an active member of the Parent Council at her children’s school, and volunteers with various organizations throughout the year. With four busy children, Renee always has a project and a good book on the go.
MILA
Office Greeter
Meet Mila, our friendly office greeter! Part Jack Russell and part Chihuahua, Mila is 8 years old and full of energy. Make sure you mention her lovely pedicure or her new collar, as she is always a very proud puppy.
SAMSON
Reception
Samson is a 5 year old miniature long-haired Dachshund, and loves to play. Our most vocal office dog, Samson is always eager to announce your presence. Small and sweet, but never quiet, you’ll definitely know when Samson is here, so take some time to say hello!
